A device that backs up the judgment call, not a substitute for it

The MyCheckr Age Verification Unit with ErGear Monitor Stand is a self-contained age-estimation device for a retail counter: it estimates whether a customer is likely to be above or below a set age threshold, flags a judgment call for staff, and stores nothing afterward. No till integration is required, and results appear instantly.

This bundle covers the physical setup a counter needs: the estimation unit itself and a monitor stand to position it at the till.

  • Anonymous age estimation with no facial data retained
  • Works as a standalone unit, no till or EPOS integration needed
  • Instant results at the point of sale
  • GDPR certified by the Age Check Certification Scheme

What the device actually does, and what it does not

MyCheckr flags faces that plausibly need an ID request, which makes Challenge 25 practice more consistent across a shift and across different staff members, rather than relying entirely on individual judgment. It does not replace the legal duty to refuse a sale to someone underage, and no age-estimation device does that. Staff still make the final call and still request ID when the device flags a borderline case; the unit exists to catch cases a busy till might otherwise miss, not to make the decision on a retailer's behalf.

Retailer duties around age-restricted sales, including what changes under the Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026, are covered in full on our Tobacco and Vapes Bill guide. Nothing on this page substitutes for reading that.

Who this suits, and the honest limit

Higher-footfall counters, multi-till shops, and any retailer wanting consistent age-verification practice regardless of which staff member is on shift benefit most from a dedicated device like this. A very low-footfall shop where staff already know their regulars by sight may reasonably judge the capital cost is not justified yet, and that is a legitimate call for a retailer to make based on their own trade. The unit sits within the wider trade bundles category, alongside the rest of the MyCheckr line, and account and ordering details for the rest of the catalogue are on the UK vape supplier guide.

Frequently asked questions

How is the MyCheckr bundle sold at wholesale?
As a single unit per order, comprising the age verification device and the ErGear monitor stand together.
Does this replace a retailer's legal duty to check ID?
No. The device flags borderline cases for staff to act on. The legal duty to refuse an underage sale, and the decision to request ID, remains with the retailer and their staff.
Does it need to connect to an EPOS or till system?
No. It works as a standalone unit and requires no integration with existing till hardware.
What happens to the data it captures?
Nothing is stored. The estimation is anonymous and the process is certified under GDPR by the Age Check Certification Scheme.
Is this necessary for every counter?
Not necessarily. Higher-footfall or multi-staff counters gain the most consistency benefit; a very low-footfall shop may reasonably decide the cost is not yet justified for their trade.
